Erik de Bruyn Dutch Champion MX2 Inters!
Erik de Bruijn became champion of the MX2 nationals/inters last Sunday. De Bruyn started the match in Meijel with a lead of 72 points over Michel Otten. Due to an arm injury sustained during the No Fear Energy Cup in Groesbeek, De Bruyn had to ensure that he would score enough points to secure the championship. With 14 registrations this was not too difficult for him. With a twelfth and eleventh place in the heats, De Bruyn scored 64 points and the title was a fact. Michel Otten finished in second place in the rankings. SKS Racing-Husqvarna rider Rick Wennekes secured third place in the final standings during this day.
The day's victory again went to Boyd van der Voorn. The SKS Racing-Husqvarna rider managed to score full marks for the fourth time in five participations with two heat victories. Second place went to Gijs Engelen with two second place finishes in the heats. Lakerveld Racing driver Kevin Simons achieved third and fourth place in the heats and took third place in the day's standings.
