David Segers wins MCLB competition in Hamme-Zogge!!
Last weekend the VJMO and MCLB pilots were guests in Hamme-Zogge at an organization of the De Durmevrienden. In the flat Waasland, the Durmevrienden had spared no effort to design a fun circuit and frame the race, with even a VIP box in the air. Unfortunately, their work was not rewarded proportionately to the number of international participants.
They started the first heat with fourteen, in this heat we saw David Segers take the holeshot. The Standing Construct Geeco Bikes KTM pilot was relegated to second place a few corners later by Torpjurn van Hoe. However, this was only temporary, because in the third round David Segers was able to take the lead again in the race. Behind him it was between Torpjurn van Hoe and Ilan Heirwegh on his 250cc machine for second place. A fight that Van Hoe would eventually settle in his favor on his 450cc machine. Ilan Heirwegh finishes third ahead of Kenny Dult and Jaimy Deleersnijder.
In the second heat we saw twelve more pilots at the gate. A fence from which David Segers again started the strongest. This time he did not relinquish this position and managed to dominate the race from lead to finish. With a fastest lap time that was about four seconds faster than the opposition, and a fifty second lead at the finish over his closest pursuer, the *cough* young man showed how strong he still is. Torpjurn van Hoe again finished in second place ahead of Ilan Heirwegh. Damon Tanghe and Kenny Dult completed the top five in this second heat.
In the International 500cc, the victory of course went to David Segers with his double series victory. We got Torpjurn van Hoe in second place and Kenny Dult was third on the podium. In the International 250cc class Ilan Heirwegh was the first. The honor of being the best went to Damon Tanghe at the International B Open, he was joined on the podium by Greg Demeulemeester and Jelle van de Walle.
