Davey Janssen wins both heats in Groesbeek!
On the Groesbeek circuit, Davey Janssen won both heats during the third race of the No Fear Energy Cup. The Yamaha rider managed to stay ahead of Jarno Derks both times, the podium was completed by Jacky Tausch (4-4). Not a good day for Eric Leijtens, the leader in the standings hurt his thumb during the first heat and finished sixth. He does not finish the second heat due to a broken sub-frame. With this double victory, Janssen comes within three points of the leader in the standings. This championship continues on October 13 at the Oss circuit.
First heat
In the time training Leijtens was the fastest man, but the sprint to the first corner was won by Janssen. On the first lap Leijtens takes over the lead and holds it for five laps. Then the leader makes a mistake, causing Janssen to come back and take over the lead. After almost 15 minutes of the race, Leijtens sprints and breaks his rear wheel, forcing his pace to slow down and Janssen seizes this opportunity and wins the first round! Jarno Derks comes second ahead of Jaap Corneth, Jacky Tausch and Roel van Oort. The leader in the standings, Leijtens, managed to cross the finish line in sixth despite the broken wheel and a sore thumb.
Second heat
Roy Hoeijmakers gets a good start in the second moto ahead of Tausch and Janssen who takes the lead on the first lap. Derks started the race in fifth place, but he managed to take over second place after three laps. Leader Janssen has already distanced himself and can no longer be traced. Derks comes second ahead of Dylan van Veghel and Tausch. The Hannamax rider dropped back to sixth place after a good start, but managed to recover in the second half of the race, placing him fourth again. Hoeijmakers completes the top five.
