Valentino Roks and Gymano Besems the quad champions at the MON
Valentino Roks and Gymano Besems were honored as the Dutch Champions in the quad classes during the MON 24MX National Motocross Championships. Roks is the Dutch Champion at the quads inters and Besems at the quads nationals. Both were already assured of the title due to the cancellation of the match in Heeswijk prior to the match in Berghem.
In the daily classification of the quads inters, the day's victory went to Mike van Grinsven. Even though Van Grinsven ended up on the track at the beginning of the first heat, he was by far the strongest and won both heats. Ruben van Lith also achieved second place in the daily rankings with two second places in the heats. He was also certain of second place in the final standings of the National Championships in advance. With a third and fourth place in the heats, champion Roks ended the season in third place in this class.
National champion Besems also managed to win the day in Berghem. With two heat victories he achieved the full 120 points. He thus kept Tim van Wee and Jamie Lommers behind him, who finished in second and third place in both heats and in the daily classification at the nationals.
This ended a disappointing season for the quad classes of the Motorsport Organization Netherlands in which the number of participants regularly left much to be desired. In the fight against moderately to poorly filled classes, it is hoped that the MON and the KNMV will now really seek cooperation with each other in putting together the program in 2020 so that both become stronger. This certainly applies to the quad and sidecar classes, but in other classes as well, both associations regularly see poorly filled starting gates.
