Yamaha no longer sees a future in Nancy van de Ven!
Last week, Yamaha informed Nancy van de Ven that it would not renew her contract at the end of the year. The brand wants to focus even more on the MXGP and the MX2 class. The woman who is currently second in the WMX championship and has been vice world champion several times seems to be suffering from this.
The decision is somewhat unexpected, Yamaha Europe has quickly become a bastion in recent years where many Dutch people hold important positions. Unfortunately, they cannot or do not want to keep the Dutch leading lady of Motocross in the Yamaha saddle.
Or is this a sign that the final hours of the women's world championship have come? For example, the current current championship only has five matches, while in the not so distant past the number of matches sometimes rose to eight and six was the absolute minimum...
We certainly hope not. On the contrary, with the loss of the American women's championship, there are now opportunities to bring Jazzmyn Canfield, Jordan Jarvis, Hannah Hodges, etc. to Europe and create something that we cannot do with the men. A real world championship in which all champions participate.
Only problem is; which manufacturers, sponsors, etc. are ready to fund this with an open mind. For Nancy van de Ven it will certainly not be Yamaha, hopefully there will be someone in the Netherlands or abroad who can give her the resources to continue to compete for the world championship in the coming years. If you are interested in collaborating with the Dutch Leading Lady of Motocross, you can always contact her through her Facebook.
