VLM Rijkevorsel: Win for Vromans and Van Meer!
The VLM caravan headed to the sands of Rijkevorsel this weekend for their next confrontation. MC Kenaka was ready for a top weekend of top motocross. During the timed training of the Inters 250, Dieter Vromans and Greg Smets already presented their calling card. That ranking was also respected during the first series. Vromans easily passed Kevin Schellens, but still had to do everything he could to hold off an advancing Smets.
The “Smekke” crossed the finish line with just under a second behind. Sven Breugelmans came third. The second series turned out to be a copy of the first. This time too, Vromans won ahead of Smets. Now there was a bigger lead for the winner. Brent Aerden finished third ahead of Breugelmans.
Interest 500
Jens Van Meer was outright the fastest man during the training with a difference of 3,8 seconds on Steve Seronval. Everyone was convinced that Van Meer would win the first series without opposition. And so it happened. Steve Seronval couldn't pull any punches and came in second. Bram Valckx drove neatly from five to three.
Jens Van Meer is also outstanding in the second series. With his fingers in his nose, he sprints to victory from start to finish. Steve Seronval comes 1 min. 17 sec. later crossed the finish line in second place. Mike Vanderstraeten fell away from the front three laps before the end, allowing Bram Valckx to finish third, just like in the first series.
