VLM Kampenhout: Smets champion, more Van Meer!
For the 11th round of the Inters championship, the VLM caravan went to the Molenveldweg in Kampenhout. As is often the case this season, there was no solution against reigning champion Jens Van Meer. Who always beat Steve Seronval. At the same time, a BMB BK round was also completed in Kampenhout.
In addition to championship tests for Inters 250 and Inters 500, the sidecars, Beloften and Novices 500A also fought for points. The big news of the day, however, was the title celebration by Greg Smets (BeTeMo). His third place in series one was enough to complete his assignment. In the closing track, 'The Smekke' only had to leave the all-powerful Mark Boot ahead. Boot took second place in series one after an impressive Dieter Vromans. Vromans won the opener with more than 35 seconds ahead, but the cross went to Boot as Dieter only finished eighth in the reprise.
Kevin Van Geldorp was on the podium at the Inters 500. He finished third twice after numbers one and two in the championship. Man in form Stijn Verstrepen, winner last weekend at the Fort in Koningshooikt at VMCF, had to settle for fourth place this weekend (4-4). Veteran Sven Wouters did what he had to do with a double top-5. The championship standings prove that Sven's regularity pays off, as the Ranstenaar is sixth in the standings.
Favorites Marvin Vanluchene-Ben Van den Bogaart won the sidecars ahead of the duos Dierckens-Bax and Janssens-Gorris.
