Van de Moosdijk takes the EMX250 title in an exciting final
Adam Sterry close to the podium again Henry Jacobi hurts his knee!
With an eleven point lead in the European 250cc Championship, F&H Racing Team traveled to Uddevalla for the Swedish Grand Prix. Not only the sixteenth GP of the season was held there, but also the final of the EMX250. Roan van de Moosdijk successfully defended his lead and is therefore the new champion. Adam Sterry performed very well at the Glimminge Motor Stadium where he finished fifth and third. Unfortunately, this was not enough for a podium finish. In the first moto Henry Jacobi finished third, but in the second moto he hurt his knee and did not finish. By not scoring during that second moto, Henry loses fourth place in the standings to Tom Vialle who won the Swedish GP!
1st Round
After Saturday went very well for the F&H Racing Team, Henry came second ahead of Adam who even took the lead for a while! The start of the first heat during the Swedish Grand Prix goes well for Henry who comes out of the first corner in third place. Adam also started well and can come out of the first corner in eighth position. In the first full lap a place is made up and a little later he climbs to sixth place. The battle for fifth place between Adam and Dylan Walsh lasts about ten minutes. Then the Brit takes over fifth place and he will not relinquish it. At the front, Prado and Vialle have distanced themselves from Henry, who is riding his own race and crossing the finish line in third place!
2st Round
In the sprint to the first corner it is poison green with Sanayei in the lead ahead of Adam, Henry, Vialle and Flanders. The Frenchman is in a hurry and he manages to get to the top position ahead of Adam who starts to put pressure on the Frenchman. It is a fierce battle until Adam makes a mistake resulting in a crash. Fortunately, Adam can continue, but he sees Flanders passing and he later manages to benefit again when leader Vialle falls! Behind Flanders and Vialle, Adam crosses the finish line in third place, followed by the new champion Prado! Henry's match is not going well. After three laps he has just taken over fourth place from Sanayei when he ends up wrong in a deep rut. This causes him to become unbalanced and he has to 'step' to stay on the bike. However, during the correction, the 22-year-old German hurt his knee and had to leave the match early to report to the doctor about his injury.
EMX250
Roan starts with an eleven-point lead during the first heat in the Glimminge Motor Stadium. The heat of 25 minutes and two laps starts well for the Eindhoven resident who enters the first corner in third place. There he is pushed out, causing a number of places to be lost. Fortunately, the Kawasaki rider remains calm and he works his way up to third place quite quickly. The duel for second place is tough, but Roan obviously cannot take many risks. His competitors are behind him so he can take his time to take over second place. The Leatt-clad rider does this very well and with more than five minutes left on the clock, Boegh-Damm is displaced from second place.
It has to happen in the second heat and the tension is palpable when the starting gate goes down. Roan gets off to a good start and appears to be fifth in the second descent. However, that does not happen because Haarup makes a mistake and Roan has to brake to prevent a crash. About ten places are lost and tension builds among the team that has to watch in the pit lane. Roan remains calm and he gives chase because his rivals are in the leading group. It works and from twelfth place the Kawasaki rider works his way into the top five in just over ten minutes. This means that Roan is certain of the title and in the second half of this match it is important to keep the peace. In the final phase, the Swede Gifting comes up and manages to take over fifth place, but that is no problem for Roan. Roan crosses the finish line in sixth place and the F&H Racing Team is waiting for their youngest pupil to join the party.
