Van de Moosdijk dominates in Lommel and takes the lead!
About ten kilometers from his hometown, Roan van de Moosdijk won the seventh race of the European 250cc Championship. The Eindhove native managed to win both heats on the Lommel circuit. The F&H Racing driver managed to eliminate his 13-point deficit, with Roan becoming the new leader in the standings! In the FIM MX2 World Championship, Adam Sterry and Henry Jacobi managed to score well. The Briton finished fifth in the day's rankings, the German finished ninth.
1st Round
After a successful qualifying on Saturday, the Kawasaki duo is clearly looking forward to it. Henry gets off to a good start and comes third over the first jump, immediately followed by Adam! In the first round Adam manages to gain a position at the expense of Henry who then drops back to seventh place. After twenty minutes of competition, Adam loses third place to local hero Geerts. He storms through to second place at the expense of Vialle. Adam also manages to pass the French fast starter and the Leatt-clad rider comes third behind Prado and Geerts. Henry has a duel with Flanders and the 22-year-old German is eighth.
2st Round
Henry also gets off to a good start in the second heat and starts the race over 30 minutes and two laps in third place. A duel with Watson and Kjer Olsen immediately follows, causing Henry to lose balance for a moment and therefore lose two places. In the first full lap, Geerts manages to pass the Dutch Masters of Motocross 250cc, who is followed by his teammate. In the second lap, Adam takes over seventh place from Henry, who then loses even more places due to a slide. In the final phase, second man Geerts stops and Adam climbs to sixth place where he also finishes. Henry is having a hard time, but purely on character he manages to finish the race after falling in thirteenth place and thus manages to score valuable points. In the standings, Henry now occupies fifth place, followed by Adam in sixth position.
EMX250:
In qualifying, Roan is by far the fastest man on the circuit, which means he can start from pole position. The start goes well and he is able to come out of the first corner in sixth position. He then works his way forward with great control and after ten minutes of racing the 18-year-old rider takes over the lead. In the remaining 15 minutes and two laps of the race, the Kawasaki rider builds up a lead of no less than 22 seconds! Roan wins the first heat and takes his fifth heat win of the season!
The start of the second moto is much better and the Motul-lubricated KX250F comes out of the first corner first! Roan then immediately distances himself and builds up a lead of at least 32 seconds! In the second half of the race it is a matter of control and that is exactly what Roan does and he also wins the second heat. Because the leader in the standings, Stephan Rubini, did not get further than thirteenth in the second round, Roan took over the lead in the standings and the F&H Racing Team went home with the red plate!
Next game:
The FIM World Championship will continue in two weeks in Imola, Italy. A week later is the Swedish Grand Prix and then the final of the EMX250 will also be held.
