TBT: Verbruggen and Guarneri win youth world titles
It is #ThrowBackThursday Today we go back to August 29, 2002. Last weekend Dennis Verbruggen (80cc) and Davide Guarneri (125cc) conquered the youth world titles. In Austria, these future talents secured the day's victory with a first and second place.
The Netherlands enjoyed success in the 80cc competition thanks to Rinus van der Ven, who made his mark with a nice eighth place. In the 125cc all eyes were on Rob van Vijfeijken, but unfortunately he did not get into the points. The rider from Deurne finished 28th in both rounds.
