Laagland podium IMBA ladies in Weerst
The second competition for the IMBA ladies was held in the Belgian weather. It was the Belgian Brenda Wagemans who ran away with the full loot. Wagemans won all three heats in his own country and thus captured the leading position in the standings at the expense of Chelsea Gowland. Second place went to the Dutch Britt Jans-Beken. The Lakerveld Racing driver achieved third and second place twice in the heats. Her teammate and compatriot Amber Simons benefited from machine problems with Chelsea Gowland (GBR) and a fall with Cynthia Swets (Ned) and took third place on the podium. Swets was on course for a podium finish in the third heat, but she crashed while riding in fourth place and therefore had to settle for fourth place in the day's standings. The first non-Lowland star was the Swiss Michelle Zünd with fifth place in the daily rankings. Gowland also had to leave her compatriot Marni Saunders ahead and finished in seventh place.
In the standings, Jans-Beken is now in second place, followed by Gowland. Simons and Swets complete the top five
