Kevin Horgmo on stage in Lommel!
After his successful Grand Prix debut, Kevin Horgmo returns to the Belgian Grand Prix. The seventh race of the European 250cc Championship was held on the tough sand circuit of Lommel. Last year the Norwegian threw away the victory in the final phase, this year he was allowed to climb onto the podium! By crossing the finish line in third place in both heats, the CreyMert Racing rider finished second in the day's standings behind Roan van de Moosdijk. The race at 'Circuit De Heeserbergen' went less well for Hakon Osterhagen because he failed to qualify.
EMX250:
In qualifying Kevin managed to achieve a second time behind Roan van de Moosdijk. The start of the first moto was great and the KTM rider immediately takes the lead. He manages to hold it for the first ten minutes and then Van de Moosdijk comes up. After more than 15 minutes of the match, Haarup joins in and a nice duel ensues with the Dane. Things are intense and both riders are not going to give up easily. The team seems full of excitement while the audience enjoys the match. In the last five minutes Haarop manages to take a lead and crosses the finish line in second place ahead of Kevin.
The start of the second heat is also good and Kevin comes out of the first corner in second position. Van de Moosdijk takes the lead and in the first lap Dankers passes Kevin. Not much later, the rider from Amot managed to regain second place. After about ten minutes of racing, Alberto Forato manages to take second place from Kevin, who also crosses the finish line in third place this heat. This allows him to climb onto the podium to the delight of the team, which is supported by many guests this weekend.
EMX125:
The Belgian Grand Prix did not go well for Hakon who failed to qualify. The Norwegian was unhappy with other participants in the initial phase, which meant that the first fast lap did not go smoothly. Later, Hakon was unable to improve his time and failed to qualify at the Lommel circuit. There is also good news to report for the 15-year-old rider. He has extended his contract with CreyMert Racing, and in 2020 Hakon will compete for the team in the European 125cc Championship and the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross.
Next game:
The final of the European Championship 125cc and 250cc will be held in three weeks. This match is a 'home match' for both Kevin and Hakon in Uddevalla, Sweden.
