Greg Smets VLM Inters 250 champion!
BeTeMo rider Greg Smets (Dessel) already secured the VLM title at the Inters 250 in the first series in Kampenhout. After Kampenhout, there are two more races on the calendar.
Smets just finished third after Dieter Vromans and Mark Boot. Although Greg initially received stiff resistance from the reigning champion Jonathan Banken (Taxi Marcel-Veloshop-WMX), he indicated halfway through the season that the title was no longer his goal.
Prior to the season, Smets and BeTeMo had set themselves the goal of the Inters quarter-liter crown. Mission accomplished for the 23-year-old son of five-time world champion Joël Smets.
