Horgmo and Osterhagen score in Uddevalla
Kevin Horgmo and Hakon Osterhagen managed to get into the points on the beautiful Uddevalla circuit. Kevin managed to score two Grand Prix points while fellow countryman Hakon managed to take his first EMX125 points of the season. With the SX125, Hakon managed to finish the first round in twelfth place, which earned him nine points. Kevin showed his speed but due to some bad luck he only scored in the first round. Victory during the MX2 GP of Sweden went to Tom Vialle, his KTM colleague Jorge Prado secured the title.
MX2:
Because Kevin had to miss a number of EMX250 races due to his jaw injury, he can now score higher in the final standings. That is why the Norwegian took advantage of an invitation to the Swedish Grand Prix. The 18-year-old rider qualifies tenth and that gives him confidence for both heats on Sunday afternoon. The first moto starts well for the KTM rider who immediately places himself in the top ten. He has duels with big names such as Thomas Kjer Olsen and the 250 EMX2018 champion Mathys Boisrame. Kevin was able to hold on to tenth place for the first half of the race, but then he made a mistake resulting in a slide. Due to the fall, the 18-year-old rider drops back to nineteenth place, where he will also finish, which earns him two points.
The start of the second moto is not so good and Kevin is included in the midfield. There it is of course a lot of push and pull, but Kevin manages to hold his own and comes out of the first full lap in 18th place. He then loses a position, but a little later he is able to work his way up to 16th place. Things get heated and due to a mistake, places are lost and Kevin falls out of the points. The blonde Norwegian crosses the finish line in 22nd place, so unfortunately his efforts are not rewarded with points. This was Kevin's last match in the colors of the team from Opglabbeek, after three years the collaboration comes to an end. Kevin will switch to the FIM MX2020 World Championship in 2.
EMX125:
The final of the European 125cc Championship went well for Hakon Osterhagen. The Norwegian managed to score his first points for this championship and he was clearly happy with that! The first heat of the weekend got off to a reasonable start. From midfield he managed to work his way up to fifteenth place in the first lap. One lap later, the FXR-clad rider makes a mistake, losing two places. Fortunately, Hakon manages to recover quickly and starts to work his way forward. Thirteenth place seems to be the maximum, but a great final phase ensures that a position win can be achieved two laps before the checkered flag. With a twelfth place, Hakon can have nine to his name!
The start of the second heat is not good and when there is a crash in the first corner, Hakon also has to take off the gas. The CreyMert Racing driver comes forward very quickly from the back field and after ten minutes of racing he can already take over seventeenth place. Then a pit stop has to be made for new glasses. As a result, he drops back to 26th place and then works his way up to 23rd position, but unfortunately that does not yield any points.
Next game:
The championships for this season are over for the CreyMert Racing Team. The team will be present for Team Iceland during the Motocross of Nations in Assen. After that, preparations will start for 2020 and then the team will be active in three classes!
