VMCF: Jeremy Coen makes entrance through the large gate
In Warsage, Liège, the boom at VMCF continues as the national holiday weekend once again turned into a true mass spectacle. To top it all off, Jeremy Coen joined the VMCF inters and “le professeur” did so in style with the victory!
On a beautiful circuit in Warsage with large height differences, more than 200 vintage cars showed up and on Sunday almost all categories were full. For classic car reporting, we refer to our colleagues at mxvintage.be
Since the MX season in Northern France is almost over, many riders are coming across the border to complete the rest of the season in Belgium. VMCF has already welcomed top players such as Victor Brossier, Kevin Manege and now also Jeremy Coen.
In Warsage, despite the leave, 23 inters were still at the start and Jeremy Coen started like a rocket while a lot of favorites crashed in the first round with Vincent Collet, Frederic Weigert and Stijn Verstrepen as victims. Coen rode away from the opposition and, to everyone's surprise, the best follower turned out to be the returning MX2 rider Jelle Verbruggen. Verbuggen rode a super race and only at the end of the series did he have to pass for Jasper Van Der Mieren and Dennis Wagemans.
In the final series we saw another crash in the first obstacles, this time with Dennis Wagemans, Victor Brossier and Jelle Verbruggen as victims. The entire Yamaha armada was therefore eliminated and Frederic Weigert did not miss the opportunity to take the victory ahead of Mike Gilot who rode the race of his life and even referred Jasper Van Der Mieren to third.
After Stijn Verstrepen dropped out with a flat tire, Jeremy Coen was able to finish fourth ahead of Roel Geurts and Jelle Smeesters. Maxime Colson took full advantage of Jelle Verbuggen's crash to take his first inter victory in the MX2 class where the KTM's mastery now seems to have finally come to an end with a completely blue podium. Jeremy Coen's regularity was just enough to take victory on his debut ahead of Jasper Van Der mieren and Frederic Weigert.
In the sidecars we also saw a fantastic competition with the Steegmans team as the big winner ahead of Corthouts and Poelmans/Raskin.
