Vaessen and Searle win in Desertmartin!
Bas Vaessen (MX2) and Tommy Searle (MX1) won the fifth race of the Maxxis British Championship on the beautiful Desertmartin circuit. Searle managed to win both heats and is therefore doing well in the title battle. Shaun Simpson was present again, but he did not finish both heats due to engine trouble. Searle won ahead of Jake Willward (2-5) and Jake Shipton (4-4). In the standings after five of eight games, Searle now has a 55-point lead over Simpson. In the MX2 the tension only increases thanks to Vaessen. The KTM UK rider (pictured) came first and second, making him the winner. The REVO Husqvarna duo Alvin Ostlund (2-3) and Dylan Walsh (5-1) finished second and third respectively. Vaessen now rises to third place in the standings, 24 points behind leader Walsh.
