Last man standing; Henry Jacobi!
The 17 point lead disappeared like snow in the sun during the first round in Lichtenvoorde! Henry Jacobi had engine problems that prevented him from getting further than thirteenth place! Roan van de Moosdijk indirectly helped his German teammate by winning the round ahead of Jago Geerts. It had to happen in the second heat, but the battle came to an end in the second round when Geerts had to leave the race early due to engine trouble! Van de Moosdijk wins the second round and is the King of the Black Cross! Calvin Vlaanderen (3-2) finishes second ahead of Adam Sterry (4-3).
The best start is for Van de Moosdijk, who is followed by teammate Sterry, Vlaanderen, Geerts and Vialle. The Frenchman manages to pass both Geerts and Flanders in the first lap. The leader in the standings, Jacobi, is having a difficult time and is fighting with Raivo Dankers for seventh place. After four laps Van de Moosdijk takes the lead and distances himself. When Geerts loses fourth place to Flanders, Jacobi manages to take sixth place from Pootjes. With ten minutes to go, Geerts increases the pace and takes Flanders, Vialle and later Sterry. This causes Jacobi a problem and he also comes back with a problem himself. Van de Moosdijk wins ahead of Geerts and Vlaanderen, who manages to surprise Sterry in the last round. The Brit comes fourth ahead of Vialle. Jacobi drops back to thirteenth place and therefore loses 14 points! The fastest competition lap is for Jacobi, but that does not provide anything extra in the exciting title battle. Jacobi enters the last round of the championship with only a three-point lead!
With only a three-point lead, 22-year-old Jacobi starts the last round of this championship. Geerts is the reigning champion and he does not want to relinquish the title. The Belgian makes the best start ahead of Van de Moosdijk, Sterry, Vlaanderen and Kevin Horgmo. Jacobi comes out of the first corner in eighth! The German is looking forward to it because he quickly manages to work his way up to fifth place. At the front, Van de Moosdijk opens the attack on the leader and with success! Geerts then raises his hand and says he has a problem with the engine! The rider from Balen loses speed and has to leave the race. That gives Jacobi the title! Van de Moosdijk imposes his will on everyone. Flanders tries to connect, but the F&H Racing driver manages to prevent that. Van de Moosdijk also wins the second round, Flanders comes second ahead of Sterry. The Briton had a hard time with Vialle, but the Frenchman had to settle for fourth place. Kevin Horgmo seems to complete the top five, but in the final phase Mikkel Haarup is stronger, causing the Dane to finish fifth in this round. Jacobi finished tenth, but he gave the F&H Racing Team their first title. In addition, Kawasaki has regained this title after 14 years, the last Kawasaki title in this championship was in 2005. Then the British Stephen Sword managed to win this championship!
The championship is over and we will remember this final for a long time. The 2020 calendar is not yet known, but the date for the Zwarte Cross is July 17-18-19 of course in Lichtenvoorde.
