Kevin Horgmo impresses during GP debut!
At the invitation of promoter Youthstream, Kevin Horgmo made his Grand Prix debut this weekend and he made an immediate impression! The CreyMert Racing driver finished ninth in the day's standings by crossing the finish line thirteenth and tenth at the Loket circuit. The victory goes to KTM thanks to Jorge Prado, the Spaniard wins both heats and is comfortably in the lead of this championship.
Grand Prix:
After a well-run qualifying match on Saturday afternoon, Kevin was clearly looking forward to it. The first round between the big boys starts well for the 18-year-old Norwegian. Just outside the top ten he comes out of the first corner, but then the FXR-clad motocross quickly works his way to the front! Kevin comes out of the first full laps in tenth! He manages to hold this position for two laps and then the Frenchman passes Moreau. After almost 25 minutes of competition, two places are made up when Vialle and Flanders crash together during their duel for second place. In the EMX250 the race is 25 minutes and two laps, a Grand Prix has races of 30 minutes and two laps, which makes it difficult for Kevin in the final phase. It is exciting and Kevin has to battle against Flanders, Vandoninck, Boisrame and the American Harrison. With a thirteenth place, Kevin immediately scores points during his GP debut!
Horgmo also got a good start in the second round and with the Motorex lubricated SX250F he came out of the first round in seventh place! A duel with Geerts follows, but the Belgian, who is third in the World Cup, needs two laps to pass the debutant. Two laps later, Boisrame manages to gain a spot compared to Kevin who can follow last year's EMX250 champion well. After twenty minutes of the match, Boisrame manages to break free from Kevin, who then comes under pressure from Beaton. He takes over ninth place four laps before the finish, Kevin then manages to maintain himself in tenth place! An excellent debut for the blonde Norwegian who has left a strong impression on the team bosses.
Next game:
The CreyMert Racing Team will now quickly travel back to Belgium because the next race will be held in their own country. The Grand Prix of Lommel is scheduled for next weekend and then both the EMX125 and EMX250 will be in action!
