Boundless adventure: KTM 790 Adventure R Rally
KTM just presented its most extreme Adventure motorcycle for 2020: the limited edition KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY. Only 790 units of the third and youngest member of the 500 ADVENTURE family will be produced worldwide!
This special Adventure is positioned by KTM as the most travel-worthy rally bike ever. Or is it the most rally-worthy travel motorcycle? In any case, these engines are intended for riders who demand the most extreme performance and the best shock absorption on the market. On the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY they can easily cross entire continents and then appear at the start of a rally.
This exclusive model is largely based on the KTM 790 ADVENTURE and shares, for example, the same tubular steel chassis, as well as the powerful and compact 95 hp LC8c twin-cylinder engine. But a big difference is the addition of the special WP XPLOR PRO shock absorbers. These shock absorbers come from the same factory as WP's Factory Racing equipment and offer similar performance for your extreme rides. With 30mm longer front and rear suspension travel you can overcome even the toughest obstacles and this special model has a saddle height of 910mm.
The WP XPLOR PRO 7548 front fork uses cone valve technology: a unique valve system that provides virtually limitless shock absorption, thus combining comfort and bottoming resistance. Damping levels that are normally only possible by adjusting the shims can now be adjusted without disassembling the damper. The cone valve can be opened indefinitely, making the suspension less stiff.
The KTM 6746 ADVENTURE R RALLY's high-quality and fully adjustable WP Thanks to their modern, low-friction components, these shock absorbers offer a significant improvement in damping performance and thus reduce the physical strain on the rider. Furthermore, the shock absorbers use a progressive damping system (PDS) and the damping behavior can be fully - and easily - adjusted.
To emphasize its READY TO RACE qualities, the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY is not only equipped with WP XPLOR PRO shock absorbers as standard, but also with a weight-saving Akrapovič exhaust, carbon fiber tank protection and Quickshifter+. This special model is easily recognized by its unique colors and graphic design with a transparent screen and winglets. Furthermore, the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY has narrower rims with inner tubes for tough off-road conditions, a high, straight racing seat to improve ergonomics during the race, and rally footpegs for extra comfort and grip during long days of riding.
Hubert Trunkenpolz (CMO KTM AG): “Honestly, we built the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY because we could! At KTM we constantly try to challenge ourselves and our products so that we always remain READY TO RACE. We have the parts we need and we know how to create a truly special engine for our most dedicated customers. With the Pro Components series, WP offers shock absorption that is almost as good as the damping that the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Rally team used on the KTM 450 RALLY to win the Dakar. The new KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY is exactly what the name promises: A rally bike that is ready for any adventure.”
In the coming months we will provide more information about prices, availability and the ordering process to obtain one of the unique KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY machines.
