Brackman ends in MCLB BK despite crash!
This weekend the entire VJMO and MCLB event took place in Wachtebeke in East Flanders. There the International category also had another test for their MCLB Belgian championship. So we had to watch to see if someone could steal points from Wietse Brackman. The Leon Sagaert by Xavier Beel pilot is storming towards the 2019 MCLB BK International 500 title. The only question that remains is, where will he be crowned champion…
In Wachtebeke, however, things did not go entirely according to plan for the Husqvarna pilot. Kevin Fors, who was fit again after an injury, showed himself to be strong. In the first round, the Walloon pilot competing for Reytec had to leave the victory to Wietse Brackman. But in the second moto both pilots competed more with each other, unfortunately this duel was abruptly ended when Wietse Brackman crashed. Robin Bakens rode a strong race on his Meor - Bakens Motoren Kawasaki and finished third twice, good for third place overall, after Kevin Fors and Wietse Brackman.
Although Fors won the second series, the overall victory still went to Wietse Brackman! In the first heat the reigning champion had a bonus of 14 seconds and in the restart he came in 12 seconds behind Fors. As the MCLB rules prescribe, Brackman had set the best time of the day.
Unfortunately, only two pilots took the start of the International 250 pilots. Gian Scheele showed himself to be stronger than his only opponent Bart Klijn. In the International B class it is Greg Demeulemeester who is riding his way to the title. The young man won both heats in his class and is once again ahead of his competitor Greg Vullers (44 pts) who finished second with two second places and Stanley Verstraete who finished third with 40 points, achieved with two third places.
