This was the weekend of the Belgians in Loket!
Match number 13, counting for the World Cup, was scheduled in Loket last weekend. Unfortunately for the Belgian fans, no Belgian pilot managed to reach the podium just before our home GP in Lommel. Nevertheless, we will list their results for you and tell their story from the past weekend!
MXGP:
Jeremy Van Horbeek 5th
Jeremy Van Horbeek finished narrowly outside the top 7,6 in both series (5), but thanks to his consistency he managed to finish in a good 5th place overall. Van Horenbeek himself stated that he felt better and better on the bike every weekend, and that of course makes us hope for the best for next weekend in Lommel!
Kevin Strijbos 12th
In the first series Kevin immediately got into the right rhythm and a place in the top 10 seemed to be in the making. Unfortunately, a problem with the rear wheel (broken spokes) threw a spanner in the works, and Strijbos eventually finished in position number 14. A less good start awaited Strijbos in series 2, and once he returned to 11th place, the top 10 had long been out of the running. sight disappeared. 12th overall it was thicker for Strijbos, who scored his highest number of points this season with 17 GP points.
Cédric Grobben 26th
During his long-awaited GP debut, Cédric Grobben was unfortunately unable to score. Grobben twice finished in 26th place in the series, meaning Cédric will have to wait at least another week before he can also make his debut in the points.
MX2:
Jago Geerts 6th
After starting in series 1 around 10th place, Jago fought his way back to a creditable 4th place. Unfortunately for the young Limburger, a crash threw a spanner in the works, meaning that Jago ultimately had to settle for a place within the top 5. Not one man left over for the podium, although in race 2 Jago unfortunately had to give up an extra place to ultimately finish in 5th place in the general daily ranking with a 6 score.
Brent Van Doninck 10th
With a 10, 13 score in the series and a 10th place overall, Brent Van Doninck scored his 3rd top 10 in a row, and his first on European soil. You would think that would be a good result, but Brent still stated that he had not felt comfortable on the bike all weekend. Hopefully we can then say that the best Brent Van Doninck was spared a GP on home soil!

Cyril Genot 33rd
Unfortunately no points for Cyril Genot in the Czech Republic, who was generally satisfied with his feeling on the bike. After a 23rd place in heat 1, bad luck was his share in heat 2, causing Cyril to lose all chances of a good result thanks to a stone that got caught in his rear brake.
