Van Grinsven dominates again, podium place for Van Lith
Like all of 2019, the ONK quads masters once again had the same winner. Mike van Grinsven won both rounds and thus maintains his undefeated status at this year's ONK quads masters and is nine points away from title prolongation with two games to go. Second place went to Ruben van Lith with a third and fourth place in the heats. Together with Marc de Vries, he benefited from a penalty for Ricardo Phoelich. De vries was allowed to take a seat on the lowest step of the podium. Fourth place remained for Phoelich. Johan Gommans could be very satisfied with fifth place in the daily rankings.
First heat
The holeshot was for van Grinsven ahead of Phoelich, Gijs Wentink, Jan Hoogendoorn and Gommans. Joe Maessen got off to a bad start and quickly made up ground. When Maessen took over third place from Hoogendoorn, he was tapped from behind and fell on his side. Maessen had no choice but to start an advance from last place. Wentink quickly fell from the front ranks on the first lap and it was de Vries who came through in fifth. In the second round, van Grinsven already had a lead over Phoelich, who in turn was ahead of Hoogendoorn. Just behind Hoogendoorn were Gommans, de Vries and van Lith. Maessen got stuck on the starting area and left the race one lap later. Hoogendoorn could no longer keep up with the pace and started his usual setback. Gommans, de Vries and van Lith passed him by. De Vries also passed Gommans and now came third. Van Grinsven was supreme and won the heat with a difference of 54 seconds over Phoelich. He in turn faced little threat from behind and easily crossed the finish line in second place. The battle behind it remained quite exciting until the end. It was the frost that held on to third place. Van Lith passed Gommans on the tenth lap and saw the checkered flag in fourth place ahead of Gommans, Davy de Cuyper, Richard Ruttenberg, Tuur van Hoof, Job Smits and Nick van Hout.
Second heat
Once again the best start was for Mike Grinsven. He was followed by Phoelich, Van Lith, Hoogendoorn and Wentink. Wentink made a mistake in the first laps and fell back to last place. Just like in the first heat, Hoogendoorn could not keep up with the pace of the front and quickly fell back. It was now Maessen and de Vries who came through in fourth and fifth. Van Grinsven drove lap times that were at least two seconds faster than the rest and quickly regained a lead to win the round. Phoelich in turn walked away from the rest of the field. Van Lith quickly got into trouble due to a loose exhaust and seemed to have to stop the fight at any moment. However, he was lucky that it remained in place and he managed to keep Maessen behind him until the seventh lap. Once van Lith passed, the gap with Phoelich had become too big and it was Phoelich who took second place ahead of Maessen. Shortly after losing third place, Van Lith came under pressure from de Vries. Things almost went wrong for Van Lith on the ninth lap. He got stuck and fell off headfirst. De Vries stood still behind him and it seemed that Job Smits could benefit from this. Van Lith was away just in time to retain fourth place and Smits briefly took over fifth place. De Vries recovered in the same lap and passed Smits again. Van Lith held on to fourth place, followed closely by de Vries. A few seconds behind this, Smits and Gommans crossed the finish line in sixth and seventh, followed by van Hoof, van Hout and Bart Steenbergen.
