Van der Vlist wins the final but Laier takes the title!
The last match of the European Women's Championship was dominated by Shana van der Vlist. The KTM rider managed to win both heats in Arnhem. Unfortunately, the Apeldoorn native was unable to make up for the 21 points deficit to Steffi Laier. The German finished second on the Gelderland circuit with a third and second place ahead of Lynn Valk (2-3). Very striking was the strong performance of Amber Simons, the Lakerveld rider was classified third Dutch. There was bad luck for Nicky van Wordrager who had to fight back in the first heat after a crash and did not finish the second heat due to engine trouble. With two 'Orange' ladies on the podium during this competition and in the final standings, the KNMV can look back on a successful final.
