Van de Moosdijk wins in Russia!!
Roan van de Moosdijk and Nathalie Fase stood on the podium in Orlyonok with a broad smile. The 18-year-old motocross rider gave the F&H Racing Team victory during the fourth race of the European 250cc Championship. The Eindhoven resident came first and second during the heats, which earned him the victory of the day. The Kawasaki rider remains third in the championship standings, just 21 points behind leader Stephane Rubini. Both Henry Jacobi and Adam Sterry had a tough day in sunny Russia. Fortunately, the duo managed to score in both heats, Henry finished eighth and Adam had to settle for fifteenth place. Jorge Prado won the match and thus strengthened his lead in the title fight, Henry is in fourth place after eight games.
1st Round
Adam's first moto starts reasonably well when he comes out of the first corner just outside the top ten. He can hold this position for more than ten minutes and then get into a duel with Henry! The German did not have a good start due to a fall, but he clearly feels good on this fast and very hard circuit. The 22-year-old rider comes from the last position and just passes his British teammate in the first half of the race. While Henry manages to work his way further into the top ten, Adam loses a number of places and the Welsh rider crosses the finish line in fourteenth. Henry continues to fight and manages to get eighth place in the last lap!
2st Round
The Kawasaki duo also have to chase in the second moto. Henry came out of the first corner in fifteenth place and quickly managed to work his way up to twelfth place. The first half of the race features a fierce duel with former 125cc Junior World Champion Renaux, but the Frenchman can be passed. When the Americans Harrison and Sanayei had to slow down their pace, Henry managed to improve and he was also finished eighth in this round. Adam crashed in the first round, so he has to fight his way to the front. In the initial phase he competes very lonely in 26th place. The 22-year-old rider continues to give everything, resulting in the Leatt-clad rider crossing the finish line in sixteenth place. These valuable points move him up to eighth place in the championship standings.
EMX250
In the time training, Roan is the fastest man, which means he can start from pole position. The multiple Dutch Youth Champion gets off to a good start and starts the race over 25 minutes and two laps in fourth position. In the initial phase he managed to take second place and then follow leader Hofer. After fifteen minutes of driving, Roan looks for the attack and quickly takes the lead. The 18-year-old rider then distances himself and wins the first heat during the fourth EMX250 race of the season.
Roan also came out of the starting blocks well in the second heat and came out of the first corner in second place behind Rubini. This duo then distances itself from their pursuers and fights a nice duel. Rubini leads the entire race, but he knows that a small mistake can allow the F&H Racing driver to take the lead. That doesn't happen and Roan wisely chooses second place in this heat, which ensures him the day's victory!
Next game:
Both the World Championship and European 250cc Championship continue next week. Then the points are distributed on the sandy Kegums circuit for the Latvian Grand Prix.
