Segers wins, while Brackman continues to lead in MCLB BK!
The fourth round of the Belgian MCLB Championship in the Inters Class was held last weekend on the Hemelveerdegem course in Sint-Maria Lierde. In this class, Wietse Brackman was in the lead with a 31-point lead. It was therefore a matter of seeing whether his closest pursuers Torpjurn Van Hoe and Mattis Meersschout could do something about their deficit.
So no, if she hoped so, it was a vain hope. The visitors got their money's worth with exciting heats in this class. In the first heat, Wietse Brackman took the holeshot with David Segers on his wheel. Both fighters did not lose each other for a meter and half the race, David Segers managed to find passage past the Leon Sagaert by Xavier Beel Husqvarna pilot. However, the Husqvarna pilot countered two laps later, relegating Wietse Brackman and David Segers to second place. The Leon Sagaert Husqvarna pilot and the Standing Construct – Geeco Bikes KTM rider battled wheel to wheel until the finish where only 0.468 seconds separated the two men. Mattis Meersschout finished third behind Wietse Brackman and David Segers.
In the second heat we saw that both gentlemen who provided the show in the first heat found each other again. This time David Segers and Wietse Brackman again fought for every centimeter of land in Sint Maria Lierde. A small slip by Wietse Brackman created an opportunity that David Segers could not pass up. The KTM pilot took over the lead, but a little later he also made a mistake, allowing “Wacko Bracko” to report him back to the wheel of leader David Segers. The latter held off the pressure and won the second series ahead of Wietse Brackman and again Mattis Meersschout. These three were also allowed onto the day's podium in this order. David Segers and Wietse Brackman each with 47 points and Mattis Meersschout with 40 points.
In the 250 class the victory went to Henson Lievens. Jurgen Wybo had more important priorities, he was absent due to the communion of one of his children. Congratulations from us at the editorial office on Jill's first communion! Greg Demeulemeester proved to be the strongest in the International B class.
