Roks strengthens lead with double heat victory in Oss
Valentino Roks has won the NK quads for the fourth time this season in Oss. The Ecomaxx rider managed to win both heats and thus strengthened his lead in the standings of the National Championships. Second place went to Dani Hoffard (photo). After a second place in the first moto, Hoffard's fourth place in the second moto was just enough to hold off Luc van Lenning. For Van Lenning, two third place finishes were just enough to stay ahead of Mike Koolhaas by one point. Marco Keunen returned home with a fifth place in the daily rankings.
First heat
It was Roks who was the fastest away from Hoffard, van Lenning, Koolhaas and Keunen. It soon became clear that the battle for the heat victory would be between these five. Jan van der Spek was in sixth place and quickly fell far behind. Hoffard and van Lenning rode a strong race and came closer to Roks with each lap. However, a slightly inferior sixth round from Hoffard turned out to be the decision. Roks got just the little bit of space he needed and he won the heat ahead of Hoffard and Van Lenning. Koolhaas stopped in this round and had to leave fourth place to Keunen. Koolhaas was able to continue his way and finished fifth ahead of Arjan Bac, who had also passed van der Spek on the same lap.
Second heat
The holeshot premium of 20 euros now went to Van Lenning ahead of Roks, Koolhaas, Hoffard and Joey Meertens. In the first lap it was Roks who passed Van Lenning and Keunen who passed Meertens. It was now Koolhaas who drove the strongest lap times and on the sixth lap he passed van Lenning and then immediately came up to the rear wheel of Roks. However, the match lasted just a little too short for Koolhaas. Roks again won the heat ahead of Koolhaas and Lenning. Hoffard followed more than 10 seconds in fourth place, who in turn was ten seconds ahead of Keunen.
