Prado on pole, not much luck for Lowlanders!
For the fifth time this year, Jorge Prado can start from pole position. The KTM rider won the qualifying race at the Kegums circuit ahead of Thomas Kjer Olsen and Ben Watson (photo). The best Laaglander was Brent Vandoninck with a neat ninth place, while fellow countrymen Jago Geerts (11th) and Cyril Genot (12th) also did well. Things went wrong for the Dutch in the first round. Davy Pootjes crashes in the first corner and after Jed Beaton he also takes Bas Vaessen with him. Not much later, Freek van der Vlist also falls! At the checkered flag, Vaessen is the best Dutchman, the KTM UK rider still crosses the finish line in thirteenth place!
