No series victory for Eli Tomac, but final victory in High Point!
For the fourth round in the AMA Pro Motocross championship in the 450 class, the pilots descended on the beautiful High Point course. There, those present in the first moto saw Blake Baggett take the holeshot.
Blake Baggett immediately imposed his high pace on his competitors and they had no choice but to let him go. Behind him, Eli Tomac and Cooper Webb, among others, fell to the ground, all without serious injuries. Jason Anderson managed to take full advantage of his competitors' mistakes and finished second ahead of Eli Tomac and the returning duo of Marvin Musquin and Zach Osborne. Ken Roczen finished sixth after dramatically slowing his pace in the closing laps. Cooper Webb finished seventh ahead of Joey Savatgy and Justin Bogle. Factory Yamaha pilot Justin Barcia completed the top ten.
In the second moto we saw Ken Roczen win the race. After a poor start, the German came from behind to eventually displace Cooper Webb from the lead. In this journey to the front, the HRC Honda pilot also raced past Eli Tomac, but the Kawasaki pilot was also unable to catch up with the former German world champion. Eli Tomac would eventually fight his way into second place at his own speed, ahead of Cooper Webb, Zach Osborne and Jason Anderson. Marvin Musquin, who crashed at the start, finished seventh!
