Erzberg Endurocross: Ib Andersen surprised, bad luck for Holtmeulen
The Erzberg 24MX Endurocross was not won last night by favorites Diogo Vieira or Robin Holtmeulen but by the Norwegian Ib Andersen! Vieira and Holtmeulen, who were one and two last year, had once again set the two fastest times in qualifying.
Vieira won everything up to and including the semi-finals, but a bad start in the final defeated him. With only 3 rounds in that final, there was not enough time to correct the lopsided situation. Robin Holtmeulen crashed in his first heat and then it was over for him. Very unfortunate because a podium place here entitles you to a starting place on the front row on Sunday!
The fact that Ib Andersen is now in the front row could be interesting, he was 24th last year and the first who did not reach all the checkpoints. But last year he had to start from the 2nd row...
