Cyril Genot gives his update!
The month of May has flown by. For Cyril Genot this is another reason to look back on the past matches. The young KTM rider ended the month well because he was on the podium in Möggers in the ADAC.
I look back on the month of May with a positive feeling. Which certainly doesn't mean that it was all roses and moonshine every weekend. There remains work to be done!
DMoMX in Axel
I am very satisfied with my weekend in Axel. You can compare a DMoMX with a mini GP. It was the perfect opportunity to see where I was after all those months of injuries. I must admit, I surprised myself. I set the 5th fastest time in qualifying and was happy with both starts.
It's a real shame that I crashed during the first series due to another rider in the second corner, so I had to leave last. I came in 14th. In the second series I was well ahead and crossed the finish line in 7th place.
Saint-Jean D'Angely
European Championships France… A weekend to quickly forget. I was in a bit of a slump after that Sunday. Although, you don't have much time because the following weekend you have to appear behind the starting gate again. I set the 8th time in the timed training. Not bad, but certainly not a standout either. I prefer not to elaborate too much on both series (laugh). 17 and 26. I think those numbers say enough.
I had trouble reading the circuit all weekend. I also doubted too much about my lines and the settings of the engine. The starting gate hasn't been my best friend either. You've no doubt heard something about it. But hey, no excuses. It has to be better. Well, I learned a lot and now 2 weeks later I can honestly say that I have grown.
ADAC MX Masters in Möggers
What a fun competition and beautiful surroundings! A weekend like that makes me happy now. Winning is of course always more fun, don't get me wrong, but I feel that I am really on the right track. I already felt good on Saturday. I set the first time in both the free practice and the timed practice and was the first to go to the starting gate on Sunday. The gate fell and I immediately moved into second.
I tried to put pressure on the leader and attack as much as possible, but to no avail. I had to be happy with second place. In the second heat I had a slightly worse start and came from outside the top 10 back to 4th place. I came back on 3rd but I didn't have enough time to close the gap. I came second in the daily results and I also moved up one place in the championship. I am now second, 11 points behind the leader.
