Thomas Kjer Olsen in a move to pole!
In Agueda, Thomas Kjer Olsen managed to take his fourth pole of the season. The JM Racing rider won a great qualifying race ahead of Henry Jacobi and Jorge Prado! Roan van de Moosdijk already impressed in training and he will do so again in the match! The 18-year-old rider finished sixth, making him the best Lowlander in Portugal.
The best start goes to Prado, followed by teammate Vialle, Darian Sanayei and Jacobi. The German is in a hurry and in the second corner he goes around the outside to second place! The F&H Racing rider then jumps further down, taking over the lead! The Spaniard struggles for a moment, but then the KX250F rider takes some distance. In the first half of the race, Jacobi is able to keep the lead, but then Prado and Kjer Olsen come back to the leader's rear wheel. The reigning champion briefly takes the lead, but then the Dane makes a great move, passing both Jacobi and Prado! The Husqvarna rider takes the lead and then distances himself from the pursuers who cannot yet agree on second place. Kjer Olsen wins ahead of Jacobi and Prado who fight for second place until the checkered flag. Australian Mitchell Evans finishes fourth ahead of EMX250 champion Mathys Boisrame. Van de Moosdijk drives really well and crosses the finish line in sixth place. Jago Geerts finishes eleventh, Bas Vaessen fourteenth and Brent Van Doninck finishes sixteenth. Not the best race for Davy Pootjes who ends up in the backfield and will be 34th to the starting gate tomorrow.
