Reisulis also wins the lightest class in Axel
Fortunately, the RES Axel was given a second chance to organize a competition of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross in 2019. The competition in mid-March was canceled at the last minute to be held today (May 5). After the victory in Oss, Karlis Alberts Reisulis also managed to take the victory in the Zeeland sand. It was not an easy victory, but with a fourth and first place, Reisulis did take the day's victory. Ivano van Erp (1-4) came second ahead of his Yamaha colleague Cas Valk (3-2).
Kyle van Zutphen takes the best start in the first round and the Brabander takes the HGS Holeshow Award ahead of Ten Cate and Yoran Moens. The leader then makes a mistake, causing 'CaliMirco' to take over the lead. He then manages to hold this for more than ten minutes. Then Van Erp comes along and after a bad start he manages to work his way up nicely. The first round is won by Yamaha thanks to Van Erp ahead of Ten Cate and Valk. Fourth place goes to Reisulis who made a mistake in the first round. As a result, the Latvian has to work his way back, resulting in fourth place for Lucas Coenen. This Grizzly Racing rider manages to take over Reisulis' pace and even manages to pass him! The final sprint of the 'Redplate' holder is better and he crosses the finish line in fourth place ahead of Coenen.
In the second moto Bradley Mesters seems to get the best start but he crashes in the first corner. This also causes Van Zutphen, Danny van den Bosse and Kyro Gispen to get into trouble. Ten Cate takes the lead, but it is Reisulis who takes command and then controls the match. The Latvian wins with a lead of more than three seconds over Valk. Sacha Coenen now crosses the finish line in third place ahead of Van Erp. The Ossenaar missed the track in the first lap, after which he managed to fight back wonderfully. Belgian Moens completes the top five in this second round.
The championship will continue in just over three weeks, when the points will be distributed on the beautiful Rhenen circuit. This competition will be held on May 30, which is Ascension Day!
