Prado the new leader, Van de Moosdijk impresses!
With two moto victories, Jorge Prado has recorded his fifth Grand Prix victory of the season. The Spaniard not only wins in Agueda, he also takes back the lead in the FIM MX2 World Championship. Thomas Kjer Olsen (2-4) comes in second, but that is not enough to retain the 'Redplate'. The podium is completed by Mitchell Evans, the 114 Motorsports rider finishing fourth and third during the heats. The biggest impression is made by Roan van de Moosdijk because he scores an impressive fifth place in the second round!
1e some
In the first heat Prado takes the best start, followed by Jacobi and Darian Sanayei. In the second corner the American makes a mistake and falls. The Spaniard then leads the entire race ahead of Jacobi. The German has a hard time in the final phase when Kjer Olsen arrives. The Dane takes over second place, but the F&H Racing driver wants nothing to do with that. He goes back on the attack, but in the last lap he falls. As a result, Geerts improved on the last lap and the Belgian finished third ahead of Honda riders Mitchell Evans and Mathys Boisrame. The best Dutchman in this heat is Bas Vaessen, who crosses the finish line in tenth place. After problems in the second corner, Van de Moosdijk comes back strongly and finishes fourteenth while Pootjes crosses the finish line in sixteenth. Unfortunately Brent Vandoninck doesn't score any points in the first heat!
2e some
In the second round Van de Moosdijk managed to win his first FOX Holeshot Award ahead of Prado and Jacobi. Prado takes the lead for a while, but Evans quickly comes forward and leads the first half of the race. Prado then increases the pressure and takes control! Evans then continues to follow for ten minutes, but Jacobi then comes up and he is in a hurry. The 22-year-old German passes Evans and even tries to catch up with the leader. That doesn't work and for the tenth time this season Prado wins a heat. Jacobi crosses the finish line in third place ahead of Evans and Kjer Olsen. The Husqvarna rider had problems at the start, which meant he had to do a catch-up race. The Dane comes back well and finishes fourth ahead of Van de Moosdijk! The Eindhoven resident impresses during his first GP on the KX250F! Vandoninck now shows that he is made of the right stuff and the Honda rider crosses the finish line in sixth! Pootjes now scores tenth place, while Vaessen and Geerts do not finish after a crash.
The FIM World Championship continues next week with the French Grand Prix
