Tough competition for CreyMert Racing in Axel
After two 'free weekends', the CreyMert Racing Team was back in action this weekend. The second race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross was held on the Axel circuit under windy conditions. The KTM duo came into action on the tough sand circuit, but both Kevin Hogmo and Hakon Osterhagen only managed to score in one round. In the 250cc class, Kevin once managed to cross the finish line in tenth place. His compatriot Hakon once finished fourteenth in the 125cc class. The victories at RES Axel went to Henry Jacobi (250cc) and Kjell Verbruggen (125cc).

The circuit was tough and Hakon clearly had to get into the right rhythm. The time training was difficult, but the first heat started well! The 'rookie' in this 125cc class starts seventh and manages to work his way up to sixth place. However, the student then makes a mistake that causes him to drop back to 18th place. Fortunately, the KTM rider manages to recover and crosses the finish line in fourteenth place.
The circuit is of course even tougher in the second moto and Hakon knows that he has to try to get into the leading group in the early stages. The FXR-clad crosser enters the first corner in a nice sixth place. Not much later, however, things went wrong, resulting in a fall. As a result, the 15-year-old rider has to give chase, but in his drive he bites the dust once again and does not get further than 23rd place.

Kevin gets off to a reasonably good start in the first moto and finds a place in the top ten, but things go wrong in the second corner. Kevin falls, although fortunately he emerges from the crash unscathed, the SX250F is hit. The damage to the engine is too heavy to continue the race!
In the second moto Kevin reacts great after the starting gate goes down. The Motorex-lubricated KTM sprints to the first left corner and the Norwegian takes the lead! Jacobi passes first, followed by Van de Moosdijk and Geerts. Pootjes' pace is slightly higher and after twenty minutes of the race Kevin also has to give up fourth place. The lead over the sixth man is large, but the 18-year-old Norwegian falls due to his own mistake. This drops him back to tenth place, where he will also finish.
Next game:
The EMX125 continues this weekend on the beautiful circuit of Mantova where Hakon will be in action. During the French Grand Prix, Kevin will start again during the third EMX250 race at the Saint Jean d'Angely circuit. The KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross continues on May 30 in Rhenen.
