Leijtens reigns supreme during the first No Fear Energy Cup
Eric Leijtens dominated the first race of the No Fear Energy Cup on the Gemert circuit. The rider from Waspik was the fastest in training and subsequently won both heats. This of course also makes him the leader in this five-race championship.
In the time training, the KTM rider managed to set the fastest time, more than three seconds faster than former MX2 champion Jacky Tausch. In the first moto the same Tausch takes the best start, but Eric is able to take the lead early in the first lap and never relinquishes it. With an almost 35 second lead, the heat victory was secured by the 26-year-old Brabander. The second heat starts less well, but from fifth place Eric takes the lead again on the first lap. The second heat is won with a lead of almost 30 seconds!
