Jasikonis wins Axel, Coldenhoff takes heat victory!
Arminas Jasikonis successfully defended the 'Redplate' in Axel, Zeeland. The Lithuanian finished first and second on the tough sand circuit, which gave him the victory of the day. Glenn Coldenhoff ensured Dutch success, the Brabander managed to win the second round after a wonderful duel. Jeremy Seewer (4-4) completes the podium by finishing third in the overall standings. In the title battle, Jasikonis is of course in the lead, Coldenhoff follows on 18 points.
The HGS Holeshot Award during the first round of the DMofMX 500cc was won by Anstie. The Brit is followed by Pauls Jonass, Jeremy Seewer, Jasikonis and Tonus. The top is stuck for the first half of the match, but the differences between them are not good. Then the leader in the intermediate position increases the pace and works his way to the lead. Anstie does not easily give in, but he is unable to regain the lead. Jasikonis takes his third moto win of the season ahead of Anstie and Tonus. The Swiss manages to pass his compatriot Seewer in the final minutes of the race. Because Jonass loses the pace, Glenn Coldenhoff manages to cross the finish line in fifth.
The same Coldenhoff takes the best start in the second round and that is why the HGS Holeshot Award again goes to Standing Construct Racing. Jasikonis follows before Anstie, Jonass, Tonus and Ivo Monticelli. The Italian manages to pass Tonus and a little later he can displace Jonass from third place. When Anstie disappears from the race, Monticelli ends up in third place. Coldenhoff sets the pace at the front, but the leader in the standings does not lose sight of him. The battle seems to be determined prematurely by the stragglers, but the Husqvarna rider continues to fight. In the last round it becomes very exciting, but 'The Hoff' wins the heat ahead of Jasikonis. Jonass comes third, 42 seconds behind the winner! Seewer now crosses the finish line in fourth place ahead of his compatriot Tonus.
The championship will continue in just over three weeks, when the points will be distributed on the beautiful Rhenen circuit.
