Glenn Coldenhoff: “Keep working for more!”
Glenn Coldenhoff (Standing Construct KTM) rode a consistent French GP. In the first moto, Coldenhoff had to do a lot of work to get to the front after a mediocre start. He caught the rear wheel of the tenth man and finished eleventh. In the second moto he rode in seventh place for the entire race. It was a tough battle as several riders had the same speed and this gave him seventh place.
“The weekend started difficult on Saturday. During the training I couldn't get into my rhythm and the riding was not smooth. In the qualifying heat the driving started to improve. After a reasonably good start I started to feel more at home on the track and managed to qualify eighth," says Glenn.
In France there was a problem with the starting gate. The gates did not all fall at the same time, with some falling slower than others. Glenn had to deal with this at the start of the first moto. He missed his start and then the driving was not easy. Because he wanted to push too much in the initial phase, he started to drive cramped. When he was passed by a few riders, he started riding different lines and then got into his rhythm better and better. Things started to go well in the last five minutes and he managed to close a gap on the tenth man, Tanel Leok. He just missed it at the finish and finished in eleventh place.
In the second moto Glenn got a better start. “There is always a lot of pressure in the beginning, but I was able to start the race in seventh place. It was like riding a train because many riders had the same speed. At one point I was behind Lieber and closed a small gap. It varied a bit, sometimes I came a little closer and other times he walked away a little, but Seewer was also pushing behind me. It was a nice race in which I finished seventh."
'The Hoff' finished in eighth place in the daily rankings and after seven games is in ninth place in the world championship standings. “We are working for more and hopefully we will continue to move in the right direction. The next Grand Prix is in Russia, this is not my favorite circuit but I am going there with a positive attitude. We now have a week to train and test some things. It will be a busy two weeks for us, but hopefully we will be a little stronger again in Russia.'”
On Thursday, Glenn will be at the start of the third race of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Rhenen.
