Duncan wins first round, Van de Ven now third!
In a sunny Agueda, Courtney Duncan won the first round of the second round of the FIM WMX World Championship. The New Zealander (photo) managed to take the lead early in the race and never relinquished it! Larissa Papenmeier comes second ahead of Nancy van de Ven and Lynn Valk! So we see two Dutch ladies in the top four! Less good news comes from Amandine Verstappen as the Belgian loses the lead in the standings. The Yamaha rider crashes in the first corner and then has to fight hard to finish tenth.
The other Dutch ladies in the points are Nicky van Wordrageren (6th), Shana van der Vlist (7th), Britt Van Der Werff (14th) and Stephanie Stoutjesdijk (20th). Unfortunately, Eline Burgmans did not score and Demi Verploegh fell hard!
