Coldenhoff about his fifth place in Mantova
During the fifth Grand Prix of the season, Glenn Coldenhoff finished fifth in the day's standings. A boost for the KTM rider who looks back on a successful weekend in the Italian mud!
“After the Dutch Masters in Axel I had a good feeling and went into the weekend positively. I always like the track in Mantova, which gave me a lot of confidence. In the training I set ninth and fifth times, but in the qualifying heat things went wrong right away. I got a good start but Bernardini hit me hard in the second corner and I crashed. I had two riders run over me and I was really hurt. After the crash my riding was no longer going well, I rode stiffly and suffered from hard arms. I also felt some pain everywhere, so I had to settle for sixteenth place," says Glenn.
“The start of the first heat was good, but in the initial phase I collided with Desalle, which put me off the track. From eleventh place I managed to come back to eighth place. The start of the second heat was also good. I made a number of mistakes in the beginning, but still managed to hold my own in fifth place. It was a reasonable result and I also finished fifth in the day's results."
