Cairoli wins the qualifying series in Agueda!
Antonio Cairoli has just secured pole position for tomorrow's Grand Prix of Agueda in Portugal. It was Tim Gajser who managed to take the holeshot, ahead of Alessandro Lupino and Romain Febvre. However, they soon had to be defeated, only Tim Gajser was able to resist Antonio Cairoli for a long time.
But just after the halfway point of the match, the Slovenian was also in for the effort. The Sicilian managed to win his second qualifying round in a row, his third of the season. This for Tim Gajser and Alessandro Lupino. In fourth place we found the Belgian Clément Desalle who managed to keep Gautier Paulin, Arnaud Tonus and his teammate Julien Lieber behind him.
Romain Febvre, who is returning to competition after an injury, crashed into the Portuguese ground at the start of the match and was therefore unable to capitalize on his good start. He came eighth.
For the other lowlanders it was a qualification from which they probably expected a little more. Glenn Coldenhoff did not get further than fourteenth place, which meant he was two places better than Kevin Strijbos, who ended up in sixteenth place. Jeremy Van Horebeek crossed the finish line in nineteenth, Jeffrey Dewulf in twenty-third and the Dutch Brian Bogers, Sven Van der Mierden and Micha-Boy de Waal were in places twenty-five to twenty seven.
