Bogers talks about his second place!
After a lot of injuries, Brian Bogers returns to the highest level this season. It's no small feat to have to watch for a whole year, but the Eindhoven native is starting to get better and better. The Honda rider looks back at his second place during the second round on the Mantova circuit!
“My good day actually started on Saturday evening when it started raining, so that made the track muddy. I actually quite like these kinds of circumstances. Overall the track wasn't too bad and certainly not as bad as Russia a few years ago, but I knew I could do well. In the first heat I got a terrible start because I crashed and got stuck under the bike and I couldn't move until someone helped me. Then I had to change my glasses and even with that I still came 20th! It wasn't the result I wanted, so I was very focused on the second race. That helped me reach the first corner in third place. After a few laps the rider in front of me crashed, so I stayed in second place for the rest of the race. My speed was very good, my fitness was good and I am just very happy with this result. This whole team is doing a great job, they support me and continue to believe in me and I know with their help I can do this on a normal path as well. We are still building and this is a big step in the process.” says the 22-year-old rider.
