Flanders about missing the podium again
With two fourth places, Calvin Vlaanderen was close to the podium in Valkenswaard. In the last 50 meters, Jago Geerts managed to take over second place from Thomas Kjer Olsen, meaning the Honda rider also finished fourth in the daily rankings. The HRC driver looks back on the Grand Prix on the Eurocircuit.
“To be honest, it was two really long and tough motos today. Starting the races from the fourteenth starting places does not make it any easier. The start of the first moto was not good, but I managed to get through the field quickly. I also tried to save as much energy as possible to be able to accelerate in the final phase. That worked, I came fourth and I am certainly satisfied with that. In the second moto the start was much better and I came out of the first corner seventh. I was able to quickly climb to fifth place, but I had to fight longer for fourth place. With two fourth place finishes, I also finished fourth in the daily rankings. This is now my third fourth place in as many competitions. It is disappointing to be so close but at the same time the constant motivation to find your way to the podium.”
