Van der Mierden gets injured in Italy
After Micha Boy de Waal, teammate Sven van der Mierden has now also been injured. The Yamaha rider crashed hard during qualifying in Arco di Trento. In this crash, the Brabander suffered a fractured finger and broke a metacarpal bone. As a result, Van der Mierden will not be able to take action for the time being! “It is very unfortunate that this happened but it could have been worse. It was a serious fall and I could have suffered more serious injuries. I'm flying back home tonight to have a specialist look at the injury as soon as possible. I won't be able to take action in the coming weeks anyway and we have decided not to return until I am fully fit again," says a disappointed Hutten Metaal Yamaha Racing rider.
