The new 2020 KTM dirt bikes are available!
KTM's range of award-winning SX motocross models just got better. Coming soon to dealers, KTM's 2020 model year SX lineup features improvements and performance updates. These ensure that these machines, from the entry-level KTM 50 SX to the powerful KTM 450 SX-F, are more READY TO RACE than ever.
After the race is before the race and this mantra is especially important when it comes to competing in the most prestigious championships in the world. KTM's commitment to winning the AMA Supercross and FIM Motocross World Championships is always evident in its outstanding performances in these series, thanks to KTM's focus on creating the sharpest weapons for the toughest battles. This READY TO RACE mentality and development in the most challenging arenas is directly reflected in our production models.
After the introduction of the new KTM SX generation last year, which caused a real shock wave, the 2-stroke motorcycles KTM 125 SX, KTM 150 SX and KTM 250 SX and the 4-stroke models KTM 250 SX-F, KTM 350 SX-F and KTM 450 SX-F have received further engine updates for the 2020 model year, to further improve performance and ensure they remain as competitive and race-ready as ever. These meticulous improvements, developed with KTM test riders in Europe and the US and Factory racers from around the world, complement the high-quality production parts already found in the KTM SX series.
Fresh graphics and colors ensure the look is ready for the new season, while this market-leading line-up also features an E-starter and selector switch with integrated traction control and launch control for the 4-stroke engines as standard, as well as premium brakes from Brembo and No-Dirt footpegs. Furthermore, model year 2020 features high-quality exhaust systems, plastic elements and seats, and a redesigned WP XACT suspension with proven AER technology, for improved driving characteristics.
2020 KTM youth motorcycles
Designed by the same engineers responsible for the bikes of racers like Jeffrey Herlings, Antonio Cairoli and Cooper Webb, KTM's sports minicycle range continues to lead the way in factory performance for young riders. For model year 2020, the KTM 50 SX, KTM 65 SX and KTM 85 SX have a new look and are also equipped with a WP XACT suspension, for precise handling and stability in the toughest motocross conditions.
All junior models are equipped with premium components, such as high-quality Formula brakes, a high-strength steel frame, ergonomically designed bodywork and a very powerful engine. The KTM 65 SX has received a modified ignition curve for improved performance in the 2020 model year and the carburetor has been optimized for better power delivery. Its bigger brother, the KTM 85 SX, has a new mounting for the drive shaft, to make the fixation of the sprocket safer. The KTM 85 SX is also equipped with a redesigned silencer with improved silencer wool, which saves weight.
Electric mini dirt bike: KTM SX-E 5
The KTM SX-E 5 also adds an interesting new option for young riders to the range of sports minicycles. The KTM SX-E 5 is based on the high-performance frame of the KTM 50 SX, but is powered by an electric motor. This makes the KTM SX-E 5 easy to handle, has low emissions and noise production, and requires minimal maintenance. Riders can therefore ride in more places, without sacrificing ease of use. The height of this new bike in KTM's line-up is completely adjustable, making it suitable for riders from four to ten years old. The KTM SX-E 5 will be introduced this summer.
“To perform consistently at any racing level, it is important to continue to develop. The work never stops, whether in Mattighofen or with our technicians in the USA. KTM's SX offering for the 2020 model year has received some updates to further improve on last year's groundbreaking new generation. We already see that our constant development is paying off: our athletes in both Supercross and Motocross have achieved great results this season. KTM's sports minicycle models are developed by the same R&D team as their bigger brothers and continue to rank high in the junior competitions thanks to their improvements for the 2020 model year. Furthermore, we are excited about the highly anticipated introduction of the all-new KTM SX-E 5 electric motorcycle, which will be available this summer.” says Senior Product Manager Offroad Joachim Sauer.
