Prado wins again, Geerts back on the podium!
For the third year in a row, Jorge Prado has won the Grand Prix of Trentino. The Spaniard is currently at the top of the FIM MX2 World Championship. At the Arco di Trento circuit, Jago Geerts managed to finish second in both heats, Tom Vialle finished third in the overall standings. In the title battle, Thomas Kjer Olsen remains the leader, Prado passes Henry Jacobi. Geerts now occupies fifth place, just behind teammate Ben Watson.

After Prado wins his fourth FOX Holeshot Award, no one sees him again. Initially, Darian Sanayei takes second place, but the American quickly loses this to Vialle. The Frenchman can hold on to this until the last round. Then it is Geerts who takes over second place, the KEMEA rider comes second ahead of Vialle and Henry Jacobi. The German did not get off to a good start, but he is fighting his way forward. The leader in the standings, Kjer Olsen, has to be satisfied with fifth place. Bas Vaessen is the best Dutchman, the KTM rider crosses the finish line in tenth. Brent Vandoninck scores points thanks to fourteenth place. There are no points for Marcel Conijn (33rd) and Davy Pootjes (DNF).

Prado also takes the best start in the second round ahead of Jacobi and Vialle. The 18-year-old Frenchman quickly passes the 22-year-old German, but he can no longer threaten Prado. Jacobi manages to hold on to third place for almost fifteen minutes, but then the Kawasaki rider falls briefly. After twenty minutes, Geerts takes over second place from Vialle, who then also sees Kjer Olsen pass. The Dane is later overtaken by Watson, leaving KEMEA with two riders on the podium during this round! Kjer Olsen finishes fourth ahead of Jacobi, Vandoninck crosses the finish line in ninth ahead of Pootjes and Vaessen. Conijn crosses the finish line in 32nd place.
The Grand Prix season will not resume for another five weeks, due to the cancellation of the MXGP in Hong Kong. The fifth race of the season will be held on May 11-12 in Mantova, Italy.
