Podium for Gautier Paulin in Oss
Gautier Paulin of the Monster Energy Wilvo Yamaha team finished on the podium in the first race of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Oss. Paulin managed to finish second in both heats on the technical sand circuit and thus also secured second place in the daily rankings.
Due to persistent flu and colds, Arnaud Tonus was prescribed a week's rest, making Paulin the only rider to start for the team in Oss. The feeling on the circuit was good and he showed this by setting the second fastest time in training.
In the first moto he managed to get a good start on his Yamaha YZ450F and was able to start the race in second place. Paulin was able to follow the leader well, but there was no attack. The fast Frenchman finished the race in a controlled manner in second place, keeping his chances of overall victory open.
Due to a delay in the race program, it was decided to hold the second heat over twenty minutes and one lap. Paulin again got a good start and was able to start the race in the leading group. He immediately moved to the top position and set a high pace. However, after a number of laps he was passed and relegated to second place. Paulin did not leave it at that and kept the leader under pressure. In the final phase of the heat he launched an attack, but unfortunately he was unable to regain the lead and finished second.
With two second places in the heats, Paulin finished in second place in the daily rankings. For Paulin this is a good start to the championship. The next competition for the Dutch Masters of Motocross will be held on Sunday, May 5 in Axel.
