Kevin Horgmo scores another podium place!
Kevin Horgmo also managed to score a podium place during the second race of the European 250cc Championship. The CreyMert Racing rider finished third in the first round. The second moto went less well with a tenth place, but in the standings the KTM rider rises to seventh place! The weekend was less successful for teammate Hakon Osterhagen, the debutant unfortunately failed to qualify in Arco di Trento.
EMX250:
After a strong second time in qualifying training, the 18-year-old rider entered the race with confidence. After the starting gate went down, the clutch was released with great feeling and Kevin managed to get the best start. The FXR-clad rider takes the lead and manages to hold it for half a lap. Then former GP rider Stephane Rubini passes by, who is simply faster. After almost ten minutes of racing, Forato manages to take over second place, but Kevin manages to hold on to third place until the finish!
The second heat of the weekend starts less well and Kevin is included in the midfield. He works hard and can enter the top 15 after more than 10 minutes of competition. A little later he loses track of this, but that mistake can be quickly corrected. Kevin crosses the finish line in tenth place and thanks to these points manages to make up two places in the standings.
EMX125:
Also this weekend there was a full line-up in the EMX125, almost 100 riders had registered for this competition. This beautiful circuit between the mountains was not for Hakon at all. The circuit was explored during the free practice and it had to be done during the timed practice later in the morning. The fastest 20 riders will qualify for the races later this weekend. Unfortunately, the friendly Norwegian did not succeed, with a 30th time he unfortunately fell short of qualifying for the Italian GP.
Next game:
The EMX125 continues on May 11-12 in Mantova, Italy. The EMX250 will be back in action on May 25-26 during the French GP. Next week the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross starts at the Oss circuit where both riders will be in action.
