Henry Jacobi wins both heats in Oss!
In a very sunny but fresh Oss, Henry Jacobi won the first race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross. The Kawasaki rider managed to win both heats and thus takes the 'Redplate' in this series over four races. Adam Sterry had a good day and finished third in the daily rankings. Roan van de Moosdijk went very fast on 'De Witte Ruijsheuvel', but he only finished the second round. The 18-year-old rider managed to perform very strongly in the second round and after riding in the lead for a long time he was flagged third.
The first heat starts very well for Adam, who started the race as the leader after the holeshot, but because the starting gate did not fall properly, a restart follows. This is to Henry's advantage because he was one of the riders who hit the starting gate hard and therefore had to give chase. At the restart, Henry leaves no doubt and he now takes the lead after a holeshot! Roan and Adam also come through the first corner in the leading group. In the first round, Roan makes a mistake and falls. Initially no problem, but when a colleague runs over Roan's motorcycle it is damaged too badly. This brings an early end to the team's benjamin's match. Henry briefly lost the lead, but he quickly regains control. Adam is in third place for the first half of the race, but he makes a mistake and falls. Due to this fall, the Briton loses a number of places and drops back to sixth place, only to cross the finish line in fifth place a little later!
In the second moto it looks particularly green in the first corner because Roan takes the lead ahead of teammates Henry and Adam! Roan manages to keep the lead for the first half of the race, but then Henry comes along and the 22-year-old German also wins the second heat. Adam is able to hold on to third place for almost fifteen minutes, but he hits a straw bale after which he falls hard. This causes Adam to drop back to sixth place. In the final phase, Roan comes under pressure from Jago Geerts. The reigning champion therefore manages to take second place just before the sign with the final round. Geerts comes second in this round, just ahead of Roan. Two Kawasakis on the podium, with Henry taking home first place overall, and Adam a neat third!
