Eric Leijtens lord and master in Horst
The second race of the 24MX MON Dutch Championship Inters Open was won by Eric Leijtens. The KTM rider managed to win both heats on the tough Horst circuit. A special achievement because the Brabander competed with the 250cc machine against riders with 450cc engines!
Eric manages to set a decent second time in the training sessions. The start of the first heat is good, but with the 250cc he has less power in the sprint to the first corner. Yet Eric managed to come out of the first corner in fifth place and then quickly worked his way into the lead. From the first pass, the EL4 Racing driver has the lead and it is never in danger again. The first heat is won with a very large lead. Eric immediately takes the lead in the second moto after dropping from the starting gate and despite two innocent falls, the second moto is also won by a wide margin.
Next weekend the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross will continue in Axel. However, Eric chooses to participate in the first race of the No Fear Energy Cup, which will be held on the same day at the Gemert circuit.
