Dean Gregoire starts very well at EMX65!
The first race of the European Championship 65cc North-West went very well for Dean Gregoire. The Youth Pro MX rider finished seventh in Slovakia! At the Velke Uhere circuit, the Brabander managed to cross the finish line in eighth and ninth under very muddy conditions. A special achievement because the KTM rider is only 8 years old and he has to compete against boys of 12 years old! In Veendam, Elvis Totney managed to uphold the honor of the team, he managed to win the second KNMV ONK 50cc. During the MON-DAMCV competition in Overloon, Sjevy Klokgieter was allowed to climb to the top step of the podium. The Alpinestars-clad rider finished second and first, taking the day's victory.
Dean Gregoire:
Qualifying had to take place on Saturday, but as good as the weather conditions were in the Netherlands during the weekend, they were just as bad in Slovakia. Training took place on Saturday morning, but later the race management intervened and the qualifications were moved to Sunday morning. Despite the difficult conditions, Dean felt good on the tough circuit. The start of the first heat for the rider from Geldrop is not good, but he works his way forward very well. He discovers new driving lines and crosses the finish line in eighth place.
The start of the second moto is better and he rides in the top ten for the entire race. By maintaining a good pace, Dean works his way up to seventh place, only to make a small slide a little later. The race continues from eleventh place and then returns to eighth place. This seems to be for Dean, but in the last corner there is Dex Kooiker. He throws out all the brakes and manages to take over eighth place after contact. Dean finishes ninth, which puts him seventh in the daily rankings.
Sjevy Bell Founder:
The first round in Overloon did not go smoothly for Sjevy Klokgieter. In the first lap he over-braked his bike, forcing him to give chase. The driven Helmond managed to fight back to second place. Later in the afternoon the start is better and Sjevy starts second. A great battle ensues for the lead, which the Youth Pro MX rider manages to take over. He then manages to gain distance and win the race by ten seconds. In addition, Sjevy also knew the daily ranking!
50cc:
The second race of the KNMV Open Dutch 50cc Championship was held in Veendam. During the first competition two weeks ago in Mill, Elvis managed to score very well with a second place. The Briton did even better in the far North, winning the day's rankings with a first and second place. In the first moto Elvis starts second, but he takes over the lead on the first lap and never relinquishes it. The start of the second heat is not as good. From outside the top ten he quickly rises to second place, but leader Van Mechgelen can no longer be traced. With a first and second place, Elvis wins the day's ranking! Noam Mezzevilla (5-9) managed to score well and Jur van Tuil (10-8) also finished both heats in the top ten. In his second race, Yuel Karnebeek wanted to finish both heats well and he succeeded! He returned home satisfied with a 23rd and 29th place.
Next game:
The EMX65 will continue in two weeks, during the Easter weekend the points will be distributed on the Grand Prix circuit of Lommel. A week later, the KNMV ONK Youth continues in Marum.
